Finish what you Start.

When I get around to it....

I am gonna put the final coat on these hall cabinets.

I'm gonna finish painting the ceiling and put a final coat on the light cover.

I'm also going to put the final coat of paint on the wainscot

I'm gonna clean up this trim with some paint and primer.

all of which will allow me to put up my painting supplies.

Today is the day to finish what I started.  Today is the day I get around to it.

 

Cascarones =Confetti Egg Fun!

You sneak up behind an unknowing friend, 

ammunition in hand,

then to their suprise,

the CRACK! of an eggshell on their head,

and a rainshower of confetti.

What could be more fun?

For several years, I have made cascarones, or confetti filled eggs, for different celebrations. 
They are really easy to make.

Hollow out one end of an egg (easier than you would think).

Just think of the small children you can attack.

Wash out the egg and let it dry.

See how quickly the kids catch on?

 Dye and Decorate the egg.

Or paint a MJ image on it.  You know, do your thing.

Consider being an overachiever like Gracie's Eggies (source)

Fill it with confetti.  Or birdseed.  Or money.  It would be nice to be showered with money.

Look at his joy!  And our thrilled kids!  Attacking Mom is fun!

Cut a small piece of tissue paper and glue it over the hole.

Then sneak up behind someone and SMASH it on their head!

Or just buy some at the store.  My sis found them for $0.10 a dozen after Easter last year!

Goldilocks

I feel like Goldilocks.  Only not as cute.  

 

I want a yellow chair for my bedroom and I cannot seem to find one that meets the parameters set forth by my imagination.

This is the color I am looking for, but this is too "Outdoorsy"

Not even close.

Love the style...but too gold.

Love the color, but looks uncomfortable.

Looks comfortable, but too "buttery."

Soo close, but too green pea-ish.

Kind of boxy and too "Mustardy."

Too country.  And again, funky front feet.

Ding Dong the Hot Tub is Gone!

After months of wondering HOW we would do it....

How?  When?  Why?

After having multiple people say they want it, just to back out because they couldn't find a way to take it....

Really...who in their right mind could resist THIS?

After this company quoted us $200 to remove it, then dodged our emails, and finally increased their quote to $350....

Sure!  We will help you!  NOT!!!!  But check out our bikini model!  We rock!

We finally did what project starters on a budget must do. 

 Off to Wal-Mart for a crow bar and a sledge hammer/axe.

Then some good old elbow grease from the hubby and his friends.  Because men rock!  And friends rock!

Shout out to a good friend and a student for their help!

And just when you think it might be time to call Jeff Foxworthy in to give him some new material...

Yup - the men tied it to the truck and drug it out! 

The result:  A place to sit and Bar-B-Q our roadkill.

If you think possum is the other white meat, you might be....

And just as one project always leads to another 7, I believe I will paint the concrete!  And buy new cushions!  And call an electrician to cap the electrical wires!
